ABOUT US

Lowery Cattle Company was homesteaded in 1887 by, James Lowery in the Sandhills of Burwell, Nebraska. What began as a small frontier homestead grew through the hands of each generation - first James, then Vernon, then Zeke - and today Matt, who is the fourth generation steward of the family's land, cattle, and legacy of the Lowery name.
This true historical working ranch is currently home to nearly 800 head of mother cows, all grazing on the same native grass that sustained the buffalo hundreds of years ago. The land has never been farmed, never had its soil turned over - it remains exactly as nature intended. Its waters flow from the Ogallala aquifer providing quality hydration for the livestock and surrounding prairie ecosystem.
Growing up on this land, Matt developed an unwavering passion for the ranching business and a lifetime love for Angus cattle. He learned from those before him and expanded his knowledge through professional auctioneering. Today he carries the title of 2008 World Champion Livestock Auctioneer and is involved in over 100 purebred cattle sales each year. He interfaces with some of the highest-quality genetics in the industry, giving him a depth of knowledge about exceptional beef and why it truly matters that you know where your food comes from.
For more than a century Lowery Cattle Company has stood for honesty, integrity, and top quality cattle. We want to share our mission with you - to bring you premium, consistent, and high-quality beef.
